New booth for review

Hi everyone! I've done one show a few years ago with a totally different look. But, I'm getting ready to finally start the art fair scene and have taken a preliminary photo. Please keep in mind that this photo is of a 6x8 booth that I needed for a particular show. I have a 10x10 Trimline that I will be setting up here soon and taking a pic of it instead. There will be one more piece of furniture (a corner standing shelf that will be in the same ivory color as the other furniture....and I will also have a chair). I need to still get pictures of my work put on canvas and hung too.

I really wanted to go for a boutique feel to be a little different than your typical jewelry booth. Let me know what you think.

Bottom line, I'm more focused on your props than on your product. Your jewelry needs to have more show.

Katrina, sorry about the shingles. I like the feeling that you get from the distressed white furniture, echoed by the wood frame on your sign, mirror, earring display.

I really don't like the human forms, at least the way they are. The front-most one I dislike the most. To my eye - and this is just one person's opinion, and I am not a jeweler - it takes up a huge amount of space for a tiny amount of display. It seems to minimize the size and impact of your necklace. Maybe if the dummy was white, or was wearing something white, or something in some color, it would help. But I think those things are creepy, and don't help your presentation.

Also, for me to see your earrings, I have to lean over and block the display of your other stuff on that cabinet thing. For me, earrings are the major draw, and I will look at them for a long, long time. In your booth, that means I am keeping people away from other work.

  It is a very small display area. It was hard to find a good place to display everything and still keep walking room. It's much better in my 10x10 space. I just don't have a pic of that yet. I have another piece of furniture (a tall corner shelving piece) but it doesn't work well in the small booth. I appreciate everyone's opinions! It helps to narrow down how I want to do things.

I've added a different flooring. It still doesn't have shadows, but I'm not sure that will keep me out of shows. I'm not trying to get into the large ones across the US. I'm just working on shows here in NM. I've also added a tent top to the pic and blurred out my sign name.

  I did it just to show the name out like you suggested. I appreciate your suggestions, but you seem very argumentative and quite frankly I'm sicker than I've ever been in my life at the moment. I'm not in a mood to argue with you. I don't mind suggestions, but I do think that you could have said things in a nicer way. I get that you do this sort of thing for a living, and I respect that, but a little more honey in your apprach and a little less vinegar will get your point across faster

  If you're asking for a jury critique, the blurred name is a distraction. Reshoot with no name sign and the props facing the camera from the back wall, which is currently the most empty wall. The carpet is too busy and lack of shadows makes the booth look unreal.

Not sure if you're asking for a critique for jurying or just how you set up at a show. But it looks really phony. You dropped in a patterned Photoshop texturizer filter for a floor with no shadows on the items touching the floor. And your name is in the booth.

  It's not for jurying at this point. I plan to do that with my 10 x 10. I just wanted a general critique on my set up. I dropped in a textured pattern because this shot was taken in my garage. I was planning on getting a better shot at the show, but had to cancel as I've come down with shingles.
