Preferably not more than a 4 hour radius from Chicago.

Just found out a trip we were planning is not happening in June after all. I had not applied to my usuals. (This was after I already decided to play it safe with unpredictable May weather, and booked only one show in May.)

On the plus side, my son will have a salary after July 1. For the first time in his life, we will not be supporting him and paying tuition! That will REALLY help. Maybe now I can cut back my schedule and write a book?!

  • Congratulations to your son, Linnea! I know that is a relief to him and to you - as well as a solid milestone. Thankfully both of my sons are well launched but it seemed a long time getting them there.

    What about:

    • Arts in Bartlett - June 30 & July 1
    • I wonder if Amy Amdur has any spaces at Gold Coast - same dates
    • Lake Bluff, IL - June 22 & 23
    • ArtFest MidWest in Des Moines - June 23 & 24
    • Midsummer Arts Faire in Quincy, IL - June 22-24

Some of these events may be past their deadlines, but it never hurts to make a call to the organizers. Our sister site, www.CallsforArtists.com, has new shows listed almost every day. It is a solid place to find Zapp shows, JAS shows, EntryThingy.com and shows that have their own application system.
