I found a useful, inexpensive product for padding/transporting framed art at Home Depot that I wanted to share. It's an Outdoor Blanket - one side felt, other side water-resistant nylon and 50" X 60". Add a few sticky velcro tabs and voila it's a wrap. The price is a cool $5.88. Here's the thing - apparently these were "doorbuster" items for Black Friday so it's a bit of a scavenger hunt since they are located randomly throughout the store. The good news is that they are located center aisle where you'll eventually trip over one. I found these at my Home Depot stores in CA but assume available nationwide. Keep an eye out.

Thanks, Kevin. I'd been planning to make something like this, but had not "gotten around to it". Does it come as you've shown? Is that a webbing handle I see on the bottom flap?
I just thought of something. Before anyone uses one to transport artwork, you should pour some water on that red felt and see if the dye tranfers. Just because the outside is water resistant doesn't mean the inside is.
I need to check these out...thanks... I like the fact that they have velcro on them
I always look for the best method to protect and transport my work. I use the quilts from Harbor Freight that usually less than $4 and are available in 2 sizes. Their smaller size works best for protecting my wood art boxes that I transport in the yellow and black rubber containers.
