Imagine this! An organizer of the two International Fine Art Expositions in Naples that hosted "everything from rare Renoir paintings and oversized Graff diamonds to graffiti wall murals and iconic photos," has cancelled them and says, "The art fairs held in February and March did OK, but were hurt by the "economic malaise" and the county's tough rules on signs."

Read the story here from the Naples News: http://www.naplesnews.com/news/2012/jun/04/albertsons-art-fair-lester-shows-north-naples-code/

What I particularly found interesting was the organizer's problems with the county to allow signage to bring people to the show.

What did art fair artists think about the many shows in Naples? http://www.naplesnews.com/news/2012/jun/04/albertsons-art-fair-lester-shows-north-naples-code/

What do you think? is this good news? bad news?

  • Obviously I don't know about these areas but I know that we have problems down here in Australia with being able to erect signage.  Many just won't allow it.

I did one brilliant show and they did an huge amount of advertising but were not allowed to erect any signs along any of the major roads.  As the show was on a minor road, the lack of signage was a big factor in the show's eventual demise.
