Hello, Everyone!! My name is Kathy Brecheisen and I'm new to the Discussion Forum. Several of my friends visit this web site regularly and encouraged me to as well. So far, I've been impressed with all the great information.
I've been an artist all my life. My mother and her sister were artists, so it was natural for me to follow in their foot steps. What's really cool, all 4 of my children are artists, too!
For the last several years I've worked as a realtor, but now my job isn't paying as well and I've had too much time on my hands. So, I've been painting a lot more. My stress level has dropped considerably and never have I been so happy. Had I followed my heart years ago and become a professional artist then, I would have much lower blood pressure today! The dollars aren't flowing quite as fast as I'd like, but, hopefully that will come in time.
I welcome advice on marketing my art work.

Kathy, welcome to our group. You should be able to find most all of the information you need right here. Anything you can't fine, don't be afraid to ask. We have had several discussions recently about marketing art work. Look through the blogs and the search box. Have you tried any shows yet? Do you have a schedule yet for 2012? We have a great website to look for shows, www.callsforartists.com. You may find some shows there. We also have a great website to get information on art shows, www.artshowreviews.com. There are many shows there that you can read up on. We have it all here to help you!

Thank you for your very timely reply, Jacki. I appreciate your information. I'll take your advice and look through the info sites and hopefully, I'll then know just what to do. I'm planning to attend the Peoria, Ill Art Festival next September for sure. My daughter is in the Air National Guard and is based there, so I'll have 2 really good reasons to attend, the show & visiting her.
Have a great day and Holiday Season.
Hi Kathy and welcome to AFI :)
Be sure to use the search boxes to look for information but if you can't find something, post a question in the appropriate forum and someone will help!
See you round
