Happy to have been accepted to Mt Gretna, but I didn't expect to be so I have some head spinning going on. Any advice on where to stay?  I've read discussions on the show here, I know the load in is a bear. Anything else I should be prepared for? They say that some areas may not be accessible without an admission fee? We don't get access to the grounds? I do the original Chautauqua Institution show here and we get a 3 day pass for the shows and grounds. Just curious.

I'm really looking forward to this. Anyone else going??

  • Some areas are not accessible without an admission fee.

I've never heard of that. What you might mean is that the show is gated off and not opened until the police come on duty early on Saturday and Sunday morning.

    • Hi Larry..This is from the 2014 show website: Also, what do they mean by "show gates"? Are we separate from the main area?

"We're sorry, but certain sites located behind show gates are not accessible during show hours unless an admission fee is paid. This includes The Jigger ShopLe Sorelle Porch & Pantry, and the ATM located behind Le Sorelle."

      • They mean the shops that are within the show area. People can't get to them without having to pay admission to the show. It doesn't refer to artists.
