I have now done shows on Mother's Day and Father's Day and will no longer do shows on those weekends. I am a photographer so they don't buy a photo for mom and reading the show reviews from this past weekend with lack of buyers they are not taking dad to an art show he's golfing , fishing or grilling . I have seen an immediate drop in sales since gas prices spiked 2 weeks ago here in the Midwest , has anyone else noticed any difference in last 2 weeks in sales

Edmonds Art Festival (Edmonds WA) is always Father's Day weekend. It's very weather dependent, but this past weekend we had a very sunny, nice weekend and the show was great. Strong attendance and very good sales. We've only tried a couple of shows on Mother's Day weekend, it's a little early in the year for outdoor shows in Western WA, weather is generally very "iffy" and chilly, frequently very wet so not sure it's the holiday that impacts sales and attendance as much the weather.
The Leeper Park art fair in South Bend IN is always held on Fathers Day weekend, and sales are always good. It helps that it is the only big art fair in the north central IN area and people save up their art purchases for it. I did Talbot Street in Indy the weekend before and saw dense crowds full of buying energy and had my best sales in 5 years. But Leeper, though the crowds were much thinner, beat Talbot Street by several $100! I guess it all depends.... on who knows what!
This past weekend was dismal for me (see my review on Cedar Falls), I was in Tupelo, MS for Mother's Day and it was better, I made a profit, but sales were still what most would consider low.
