Any info on which might be the better show to do? I am planning routes, and Mainsail would certainly be easier than going all the way to Savannah. Deadline tomorrow midnight, btw!

Savannah is a very touristy place, and locals do not go to River St. What this means to you is that your artwork needs to be most inexpensive, portable, and preferably with a local flavor...that is, if you want to sell well! I'm located in Savannah, and I have done a few of the River St shows, but not this particular one. There is a show on River St the first Saturday of every month, as well as a few additional shows most months (Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July...) With so much going on down there, it's hard to make this one stand out.
I agree, after doing more research. Mainsail is the much better show. But they are very particular about jewelry, and since I do not make my own components they will not accept my work.
Jewelers: They sent me a fairly snippy letter about being a "fine art show" that gets so many applications, mostly from jewelers. So I'm helping them out here. If you use beads, carvings, antiques, fabrics, hardware items, pottery, shells, gemstones, metals, especially glass, whatever, etc that you yourself have not fashioned into your use, save them the bother of going through all of your unworthy and unnecessary applications. Oh,and save them, from having to cash all of those pesky jury fees, too. :)
Little sarcasm? Maybe a little.... but we have to maintain our sense of humor.
Savannah is a tourist crowd not alot of locals that I saw last year Mainsail one of my best shows last year alot of quality work I hope to get in Mainsail again this year

I'm with Larry. Mainsail is a great show but I've only gotten in once in 3 tries. Apply to both.
Never heard of the Savannah show but Mainsail isn't easy to get into.
If they're the same weekend, I'd apply to both and do the one you get into.
