Like you, I wear many hats, and am not able to always be here and respond to your comments, but that is also a good thing, it seems to allow a good flow of conversation and after all, this site is for you.
What do you think would make this site more accessible and helpful to you?

I like Leo's suggestions especially the "Newbie" section. Also, this should be a restricted area in that you have to post x amount of posts, lets say 5, before you can get into the general area. That would let subtly let people know that they need to contribute. Also, it would keep out the spammers, etc.
I think there should be more well defined categories. The show review section has other posts besides show reviews.
As a newbie, I'm trying to get a feel for who everyone is. I'd love to have an easier way to find the website or see the work of the people posting. If clicking on the person's name led to their profile, or if there was an option to have an automatic signature with a website link appear when you posted, then people could opt to do that if they were okay with other members seeing their work. It would help me put their comments in perspective.
In the colder months of the year you will see more reports from the southern shows, it's a seasonal thing here.
If you are a Southerner who participates in Southern shows -- please share your experiences here and encourage your friends to participate also. Our goal is to have representation from across the country in these events.

However, with clickable links going to a separate area on the site, we could access reviews easily, see whether or not reviews of a show are consistent over time, enable multiple reviews per show (important, since a reviewer doing sculpture might have a different perspective than a reviewer in textiles...) and it would be easier for people to add reviews and comments. Also, there should be a space in the header for each review for the reviewer's media as well as their name.
Thanks!
