I've been doing shows for years and have always just "winged it" when it comes to lighting. Consequently, I've never been very happy with the lighting or the set-up. Now I'm getting ready to update my booth and am ordering pro panels and the folks at pro panels recommend their lighting system (LED bulbs and fixtures, 4' tracks, etc.) for around $555. Has anyone come up an affective and attractive lighting system that is a lot cheaper and you're happy with?
thanks in advance for your response

These new Ryobi cable lights look really promising. With a couple of lithium batteries they could work all day
Greg,
They do look interesting....thanks.

SILICON Lightworks is all you need! Check them out!

I bought three kits and sold a $1,000 work of art the first time I used the lights. I think that the system is a great deal for what you get. Look at my booth!

I'll let you know how my lights work outdoors after I finish making lamp shades for them out of some small white translucent waste baskets. I've used them without diffusers and they are very bright, almost too bright.
I have now ordered the Propanel lighting system for my 10x20 booth (12 lights total on 4 different bars). After talking it through with them, I ordered the 3500 bulbs. I'm hoping that I love them... I'll let everybody know after I try them out in early June at a Peddler show in Corpus Christi, TX. Holly
I finally got tired of the time consuming set up for lights using the articulated drafting table lamps, which were easy to install since they fit into the top of the Propanel pipes. What was taking up all the time was running a ton of extension cords to them. Since then, I've picked up a couple of 300 watt equivalent "corn row" lights and hang those up in the middle of the booth. It's not the best solution, but it's cheap, about $32 per light, bright as the devil, and goes up quick. They pull about 35 watts of real power each, so a couple of boat batteries runs them for the entire weekend.
Can you define "corn row" lighting for me? I think I know what you are referring to but not sure. Thanks much in advance.

It's a large lamp with rows of LEDs arranged around the cylinder like kernels of corn. Here's the link to the two I bought;

The price has gone up a little but not bad. These things put out 4,000 lumens so they are quite bright. You can place them up high inside the tent and just use the bounce reflections from the canopy to get a decent overall diffused light. Don't look at them directly or you'll have spots in front of your eyes for a while.
