I want to give a shout out to Larry Berman for taking such beautiful pictures of my work this summer.
I am a finalist for the Saul Bell design award, a very prestigious trade award from jewelers for jewelers.
I was also informed today that one of my pieces was selected to be in the Lark 2013 gallery publication of 500 Art Necklaces. To say that I am overjoyed and overwhelmed would be putting it mildly.
I am a killer designer, there is no doubt about that. but as killer as I am, it was a struggle to get into the places I wanted to be until I met Larry Berman.
His striking and sensitive photographs of my work made us a fanatsic and solid team.
The relationship an artist has with a photographer is not simply a means to an end.
It is a partnership.
If your work is the best, doesn't it deserve the best photo? And the best photographer?
Thank you, again, Larry! Between my Art to Wear pieces, and your great photographs, we are a force to be reckoned with :)

Thats just fantastic! Both the piece, the fact that you are a finalist for Saul Bell AND Larry's work. I just had him do my cloisonne pieces and can't figure out why I waited so long! With the new photos, I have alot more confidence in applying for shows.
Anyhow, as a jeweler I am very familiar with the Saul Bell award. My mentor, Patsy Croft was a semi finalist and I know its such an honor. It also goes to the MOST talented people!
I completely agree with your praise of Larry's work. He has recently performed some of his magical work on my woodworking photos that has vastly improved anything i am capable of doing.
There have been numerous blogs and discussions about the quality of photos when applying to shows and I feel that I would never compromise or cut corners with my work...so why cut corners with the jury images.
Larry, the praise is so well deserved. I would love to see all my Artist friends get their pictures from you...you are the best :) I can't wait to bring more pieces this summer !
It is a lovely piece Gloria and Larry, you've obviously shown it off to its very best - you can see the detail whilst still getting the impact of the whole piece.
