My first time back showing after quite awhile, and it was such a pleasant experience! I did the Kensington Metropark Art Fair in Milford, MI, which is run by Integrity Shows. The show was three days, May 29-31, 2021, and my medium is painting. Booth fee was $350 for a 10 x 10 spot.
Friday set up was a bit windy and cold, but got to drive right up to my location for unloading. And couldn't ask for a prettier spot - right on the lake, and Kensington Metropark is gorgeous. A Sandhill Crane stopped by for a visit while setting up; where's my camera when I need one, darn! Tent sites were arranged so everyone had a side open - like having a corner booth - which I happily took advantage of to display four walls of my artwork. Also had plenty of storage area behind tent.
The weather cooperated and stayed dry and relatively warm, and the crowds showed up! Show ran from 10am to 6pm Saturday and Sunday, and 10am to 4pm on Monday, and traffic was steady everyday until about an hour before closing. Mixed demographics, but I think Saturday and Monday had a little older and more affluent crowd. I sold well everyday, but my best day was actually Monday.
Mark from Integrity Shows did a terrific job of producing this show, and kept the artists up to date on any Covid restrictions and the weather. They had people come around at intervals to offer the artists snacks and drinks, and were happy to assist for anyone needing a booth sit or an extra pair of hands for a few minutes.
Would happily do this show again!
