  • Hi Manie,
I believe that there are others who do get into juried shows with macrame jewelry. Just do a search on Google images for "micro macrame" or take a look at joanbabcock.com her work is fabulous. Good Luck!

  • Hello Manie and welcome to our group. Yes, your work does look like macrame. Your knots are nice and uniform. You have ssome very nice beds, too. Macrame was very popular in the 70's. It is due for a major comeback. I'm not sure if you would have a very easy time getting into juried art shows. You would have to compete against gold and silver jewelers. But, that is ok. There are tons of non juried shows out there and you should have no problem getting into those. Now is a good time to be making a show schedule for yourself for 2011. There are many places on the web where you should be able to find those shows. What I would do is to find as many shows in your area as possible. Just googe art and craft shows in your state. You should find several sites that carry lists of them. Good luck and keep us posted on how things go for you this coming year.

i pride myself in making sure my knots are as i would want them to be if i were going to wear it myself-have taken apart many a necklace lol and have re woven it til it was where i was happy with it.
and i definitely will keep you all posted on how things progress.
the hardest thing so far is getting the money orders lol already had one customer send a check and bounce it on me
