Hi just a little intro. I have been on here for some time reading and learning everything I can. It has been great. My plan is to do maybe a couple of indoor shows this fall but we are having our second little one then.
I have been an art teacher for about 9 years now. After many years of wanting to do art festivals and show my work. Some things have happened that made me think of my priorities in life one of them being: The birth of my now 2 year old little girl and the other unexpected passing of my father. This will allow me to be home with the little ones which I just love. Being a dad and being able to be home with my little girl words can not tell the joy.
This has made me take the jump. I am a painter by training and love but also do monotype printmaking which goes along with my drawing style. I have also in the last year or 2 rekindle my love for photography. This is what I will be doing the most of right now.
Sorry for the wordy intro. I sometime tend to talk to long. So my wife says. :)

Hello Shawn and welcome to our group. You have indeed taken a giant step which will change your lives. I know how hard it is to give up a teaching job. I did that, too, many years ago when we started having our kids. I loved staying home with them and I was glad I didn't have to cart them off to day care everyday.
Have you done any shows yet? Have you gotten in to any shows for this fall? Your new adventure will be exciting, that's for sure. Sorry about the passing of your dad. I know what that is like. I lost mine 7 years ago and sometimes it still feels like yesterday.
Keep us posted on how things are going for you when your shows start. We'd love to hear. If you are looking for shows to add to your schedule, check out our sister site, www.CallsforArtists.com. You might see some shows there you are interested in trying.
Good luck,
