Hi fellow artists,

This is my second season selling in a lightdome, and my first with Pro Panels. I have been setting up the most boring configuration: straight-up 3/3/3.

Not only does it look plain, but I feel imprisoned, not knowing where to stand/sit, and man-o-man is that tent hot!

Who's out there with an interesting configuration of 9 panels? Let me see pics please. Thanks for your innovation...may it make my life easier :)

(Photo below shows a table which has since been replaced by the Pro Panel tall pedestal desk.)

  • Hi Nancy!! quick question,if you don't mind, where do you get your floating frames?I have gone through so many and I don't seem to find the right ones for my art.

    Thanks,

    Lu

    • I get them from Rupen at CanvasPlace.com

They come unfinished. He also sells canvases to fit inside, but I prefer to use other canvases, as the ones he supplies have thin wood, making it hard in dry climates to get a screw thin enough not to split the wood when affixing the canvas to the floater frame. The frames are nice though. To be fair, Rupen is working with me to find a fix for the canvas problem. Let's see what he comes up with!

  • There are only two panels across the back giving me a place to sit. Alternately I can go all the way across the back and take the back right panel out giving me a place to sit on the side. If I have a corner and not much work to hang I can take out the frontmost right panel giving more entrance area to the booth.

  • Get rid of the wrinkled red table cloth. it's drawing the viewer's eyes for the wrong reason. I suggest keeping it the same color as your walls and not wrinkled.

Take out the back wall corner panel (either side) and move it one panel width forward. That will give you a place to sit and work from that is open to airflow from outside the booth.

    • Larry, I just added a discussion about booth configuration and was browsing previous threads - what do you think of 6-30" Pro Panels configured in an "H" to allow for 5' of display on each side - the flat part of the H facing out? This would be placed center, back about a foot or two within a 10' x 10' booth.

I only have 6 panels and this allows for maximum viewing - just not sure people would enter my booth and walk around the whole display...

    • Thanks, Larry! A-OK on the tablecloth: I agree. Last week I used my new Pro Panel desk, so I'm good there. I did try moving the panel up as you mentioned last week, which was a great deal better! Whew, no more hot sweats. The only problem was that when sitting I felt too hidden, a few times surprising the onlookers with my friendly "hello" as I appeared from behind the panel. Hmmm...

I've seen tents with innovative diagonals, or some using a panel right in front, but am not sure how to configure it all with the sta-bars, etc. Have you ever done any of these types of setups? I'd love to see :)
