Just finished Images in New Smyrna Beach last weekend and it was pretty slim and grim. Average sales on Saturday for most people was $500 and Sunday was worse. Mind you there were exceptions. Couple of painters had $5,000 shows same with a couple of glass guys. Too many people walking with popcorn in their hands and nothing else. For me, I did less than a $1,000 mostly selling $30 photos. So did anybody else out this past weekend have something to add.I have Mount Dora next which has always been a steady show--but who knows. Aloha,Nels

  • It was a zero show for me.........pretty scary and I wonder about fl shows this year. The quality was good....not enough buyers and the ones there weren't even looking. And they added booths and makd the show too big. Hats off to anyone that did well. Michele
  • My first show in Bonita Springs in January was about half the expected revenue. Money was there but spending was curtailed some. But, I am still trying to figure out if my work fits the West Coast Retirement Crowd. An artist selling colorful wooden pepper mills (top quality work) was doing quite well. I too am doing Mount Dora (a new show for me) and wondering what to expect. I follow up with St. Stephen's the following weekend so will have another two test markets for this economy.
