Hey guys, I am fairly new to the art fair game and had a good year this past year, but I am learning through trial and error which shows to go back to next year. I would like to make next year as easy as possible, so if you could help me out I would be very happy. I sell different variations of my terracotta planters, but they are all priced at around $25. My question is, what would be the top 10 shows in Michigan or East Coast for me to be in next year? Also Florida shows would help. Thanks for your help guys

  • I would look up Sunshine Artists and get your hands on their Top 100 art fair list. It is rated by fellow artists - a big plus, but think it might be about $40 or so. It might be worth it in your case as you are trying to find solid good shows. I unfortunately can't recommend anything because I really don't know your market - who are your target marketing audience is. I feel since you know your work well enough, getting your hands on various resources - like craft show publications - would be the way to go.
  • Can't speak to Michigan or East Coast because I don't go there. As for Florida, the largest promoter is ACE, or American Craft Endeavors (the "craft side" of Howard Alan Events). Click here to visit their website and read their requirements very carefully (there are a lot of them). ACE tries to arrange their shows in a "west coast" or "east coast" circuit to make traveling a bit easier logistically.

I've also found a nice Florida show calendar on the Pinellas County website. It's not just Pinellas County, but the entire state, and it's got a nice filter so you can search alphabetically or by date. You can also look at the show calendars on Sunshine Artist.
