  • Hi Debbie, it is expected that your booth shot will show your work... the type of work shown in your submitted jury images. Typically, jewelers work is too small to see well in a booth shot, and my assumption when I read your post was that you were looking for feedback on your set-up. Barrie's astute observation that you had no work displayed made me wonder about the jewelers booth shots I've seen in jury settings and the fact that we (Directors) often can't discern the nature of the work in jewelers booth shots, only that there is or isn't work displayed. But to answer your question; booth shots must contain work of the type you intend to sell at the festival. T

    • Thank you Tim!  I will set my booth back up and add my work.  It is true that jewelers work is too small to be seen in a booth shot so I have to rely on the individual pics of my work but even so, I agree that I should have my work in the booth shot.  A bonus is the jury will be able to see that I don't have mass inventory which means no B/S nor production studio work.

Thank you Tim & Barry again!

  • Is it just me, or is there no actual work shown in this booth? Uh, does that matter to a judge? I think the booth looks pretty nice, but I might wonder where all the work is if I were judging. And I'm not sure judges care about ceiling fans, either. Your customers will love you, but the judges probably don't need to see it.

    • That's a good question about having the work as part of the booth shot.  I have not ever done that before when submitting to a jury.  If someone doesn't reply on whether it makes a difference I will pursue that answer.

The ceiling fan is actually functional (besides looking pretty).  I do all my shows in Florida and it has been a blessing.  Even in the winter months.  With all the walls down it gets stuffy so the fan helps move that air.

      Thanks for your feedback!

  • You might put a single clean framed image on the front (or forward) face of the two pedestals at your entrance, with one or two additional on the back wall. T

    • More great tips Tim.  Thanks again!

  • Hi Debbie, very nice booth shot. Wow... ceiling fan even... I haven't seen that before. The only recommendation I could make would be to include some nice, large, framed images of your work along the back wall to "push" your presentation out beyond your booth entrance. T

    • Thanks Tim.  That is a really great idea!
