I'm a newbie

Hi everyone ~

So glad to be part of this amazing group of people.

I design and create jewelry using acrylic paint, but not using a brush.  I discovered my technique while participating in a Christmas decoration workshop.  If you'd like to see what I do, my page is www.facebook.com/N.E.wear.Jewelry.

I've been doing this for a little over a year and this is my first year of shows (although I've done shows in other capacities).

    Good Morning Everyone!

    I have been a member for a while but have been "out of commission" due to my MS for a while.  Happy to be back.  I think this group is great!  I love sharing ideas and info but can someone please help me with this question?  Why are there some crafters that do not like getting together to chat and work together?  I am a "sharer" and believe that knowledge is worth nothing if not shared.  Am I being silly or naive or both to think that sharing is a great idea??  Thank you!

      Hi Pat --- I don't know if anyone has responded to your post yet, but I'm finally getting to it.  I belong to an Artists CoOp.  Until Dec. 2011, we had a beautiful building where 22 of us shared, displayed and sold our work.  While the system wasn't perfect, we endeavoured to have 2 artists on site during store hours.  Often we'd have 5 or 6, just because of the camaraderie.  We lost our building in December but continue to meet monthly to discuss some business and do some 'show & tell'.  So - is it a great idea?  It is for those who love to do it  :)

      Thanks Cassius (great name, by the way).  I'm excited to view peoples' photos and their booths --- always looking for new ideas.

      I've only done 2 shows this year.  Personally, I did better at Antiques in the Alley (Millersburg), but Baiwoop (Secrest Arboretum) was fun, too.  It's always great to make some new contacts and chat with folks.
