I'm interested in going to Florida this winter and wondered if there were any of his shows in FL during Jan/February that were worth doing/not doing. Any input would be appreciated. I'd like to do three in a row to make it worth while. I saw their schedule and they are more or less around where I'm going to be staying. Also any other thoughts on shows I may be able to still get into that aren't past deadline...
Thanks for your time!

How are Howard's shows down there. They don't have to be the best, just good enough to make it worth the drive.
thanks for your input, Pete

Peter, it depends on your tolerance for pain, and what kind of work you are selling. Many like the Las Olas shows in January and March. For me, the load-in/out there is painful. Many lookers, and less buyers these days. The St. Armands Circle is another show that might be okay, but I think it's full now. The New Year's Las Olas show is likely full as well.
Most of the Jan/Feb show deadlines are now past. The best shows (IMHO) are the Boca Museum Show, Ft. Myers or Mt. Dora (deadlines all past), Coconut Grove (past), Winter Park in Orlando in March, maybe Gasparilla in Tampa and the Bonita Springs shows that Barry Witt does. None of these are open now.
Patty Narozny is doing a couple of shows in Florida as is Howard Alan. The Naples/Bonita Springs area is getting saturated. I notice that the von Liebig Art Center has two new shows in Naples in March, to compete with all the others.
The best comprehensive source is going to be Art Fair Sourcebook for ongoing info on deadlines and artists ratings. Unfortunately at this time of year, you've missed most of the good show deadlines, and all that's left is the Howard Alan shows that haven't filled yet. FWIW.
