Anybody else under the gun to complete holiday orders and how are you handling the stress? Belt, special straps and holsters are getting finished today, a saddle has to ship on Monday. Next week is restoration of antique rocking horse, reproduction antique headstall, five billfolds and four wallets. Went to yoga class yesterday and forgot about everything but cane home so tired I slept for an hour that I needed to be working. I try to take a break every three hours and keep going to eight or nine at night. Gets tougher to do as you get older LOL.

Merry Christmas to you all. Annette at least you could have all that company outside there in Austrailia. It must be pretty nice there. Richard, congrats on the baby girl. How wonderful. We had all boys ourselves so the first kid to have a girl is going to see fireworks. I would also love to see a photo of that rocking horse you made. I bet it would be fabulous.

Too hot outside Jacki! We're already in the 100sF. I have 20 here for Christmas and only have ceiling fans, so hope that we have at least a cool morning to get things off to a reasonable start! Luckily we have the pool so everyone will be in and out of that all day I suspect! And only cold foods - cold meats, salads etc. - will help me not get too stressed out :) Been a big cleaning day today - cooking tomorrow in prep. Then its on for young and old!!
DONE, DONE DONE! I worked to 1:00am last night and got the antique rocking horse done. Client picked it up this morning. A Christmas gift for 3- year old son. I doubt he is big enough to get on the beast. Heading over the mountains to Parachute tomorrow to see our new grand daughter and crash over Chrstms. Got money in my pocket too!

When I first read this I thought you were going to use a parachute to go visit your new granddaughter. Then I noticed the capital P. (and i was an English major)
It is too bad that people can't place those orders a little bit earlier. I'm not very good with getting things done earlier either. I'm no better than your customers are. Perhaps a sign in your booth in September saying that you are taking Christmas orders now and then make a cut off date (although I am sure nobody wants to discourage sales).
Saddle orders were all on the books in September. Rocking horse came in last June. I have a Nov. 1 cutoff (LOL ) but you just have to squeez stuff in especially for established clients. Will finish off one saddle tomorrow, the other three can wait - gives the kids longer to pay balance. On track to have everything done by 12/23/12. On top of all that we are waiting to hear from our daughter about first grand daughter any day now. First girl after four grandsons.

That is going to be one spoiled grandchild.
Merry Christmas.
Congratulations on getting it done Richard!
I got the last of the Christmas orders out on Friday and have been cleaning ever since in preparation for the 20+ guests on Christmas day.
Have a wonderful Christmas - travel safely!
