Great article, Linda. It seems the marketplace is moving -- and that as we kind of thought individual galleries are having a problem. I like that these big name art fairs are bringing people together in a new way, or rather that then continue to grow in influence.
These commercial "Art Fairs" (think Art Basel, Art Miami, etc.) are the leading edge of the business or art meeting consumer. It seems the top end is alive and well, and in fact, at our art fairs it always amazing me the sales at the high end. At Arts, Beats & Eats, on one of the hottest days of the summer an artist had an excellent selling day including selling a $4200 piece and missed the artist breakfast because she was out delivering.
