Hello All. I'm new here and I have no idea what I'm doing with art fairs yet. I've signed up for one in August and have the art and the easy-up and that is it. I may chicken out for this one if I can't figure out a tasteful way to display my art. Just found out that the display boards and even the mesh panels are quite expensive. Argh! But anyway, I'm happy to be here and I'm sure I'll learn something, and perhaps sometime be able to pass a jewel along to someone else:)
You need to be a member of Art Fair Insiders to add comments!
Don't forget to look in our Classified section. Sometimes you can find some really great deals on panels, tents, and show supplies. There was somebody selling a complete show set up not too long ago.
Hello Janeane and welcome. We are glad that you have joined us. I know it is scary getting ready for your first show but you will have access to a lot of help here. Everybody here is so helpful and they all were once where you are now. Spend some time walking around a few art shows in June and July. Stop and ask the artists questions at the shows. Ask questions here, too. You will be ready before you know it. Good luck as you get ready for your first show. Don't forget to let us know how things go for you, too.

Thank you Jacki for the encouragement. I'll be sure to use all the resources here and I'll post a full review of the show afterwards. Hopefully it will have some comedy in it too, as I'll have to laugh at my first-timer mishaps:)
Hi Janeane....
This is a great site!!! Lots of ideals, help!!
I found on Amazon
ExecuSystems 2' X 4' GRID PANEL 3" ON CENTER-BLACK-Lot of 2, at $27.12 free shipping!! this company on Amazon has a lot of other products too, picture hangers, etc....if you have another artist friend sharing cost helps too....
Love your work!!!
That is a great tip. I'll be sure to look into Amazon. Wish I had an art friend to go in on this, but hopefully by doing this show and getting out among the art community more, I'll meet with someone to do future projects together. Love your work too, especially the peacock hat. That's wildly fun!
Thanks Janeane, I looked around and I found that was a great price. I did want to say my first show they had tents...so that made it pretty good. I made mine and my mother's display racks for our paintings and all I can say is never again!!!! Too much work. I did a show in Key west and got my sign done down there and the lady at her shop had extra racks and she gave me 3 which was sweet. The racks from Amazon I am ordering because easy to store and carry....
So welcome to the wonderful world of doing shows!!!!!! It is a blast and you meet so many awesome artist too!!

Glad you found us. My first show was a beach umbrella for cover, folding table(four footer) and a lawn chair!!
I fried in the sun, got sun poisoning, and a gust of wind blew the table over!!! Needless to say, we all start somewhere!!
This site has been a great research tool for me...displays, equipment, tips&tricks, etc. Utilize it well, ask advice when you need to, and enjoy!! Good luck at your first show!!
This is very encouraging. LOL - at least I have the EasyUp. And you weren't daunted after all that? That's so great. Am finding wonderful tips here and info. Thank you so much. I'll be sure to post details on how it goes.
Thank you so much. The encouragement and compliments mean so much to me. This is really helping me get myself and my art out of the house finally. I'll be sure to post on the show and anything I discover along the way.

Your profile page is lovely, and your paintings are appealing, too! Good luck with the show.
