Hello everyone!
I wanted to stop by and introduce myself. I'm Abbyanna. I paint portraits and landscapes in oil. While I have done some indoor art shows a few years ago, I'm just now starting to participate in outdoor art fairs.
It seems like an overwhelming task to get everything together. I'm so glad to have found this site and to be able to draw on the experience that all of you have. Reading the posts on various subjects as already been very helpful. I look forward to being part of your community.

Welcome Abbyanna! I am new to this site too, and new to the art world. Everyone is so nice.

Hi Rosie! Welcome to you too!
Welcome again, Abbyanna! I'm so glad that you've introduced yourself here as this will help you get to know your fellow artists and artisans and vice versa. This communtiy is extremely helpful and especially good at giving newcomers advice and answering any questions they may have.
So, nice to meet you and best of luck as you proceed...
Hello Christina. It's nice to meet you too. Thank you!
I'm already learning so much from the posts I have read. I just made my first fair related trip to Home Depot so I can build my displays. My plan was to start the project today, but I will delay a day or two because of the heat. I don't want to give myself heat stroke!
Thanks again for the warm welcome.
I wish we could send you some of the rain we've been having here...I keep looking up at the rain clouds and saying "go to California, would ya?" No, heat stroke is not an option...good luck with everything and post some pictures when you get your booth set up, would love to see it.
I will post some pictures once I have worked out some of the design problems. I had to do a bit of redesign when I realized that my original plan would require two people for set up. I think I figured it out now, but it's back to home depot to find the bits and pieces that I need. :)
Yes please, send us rain!
A hardy welcome from Vermont. No matter what you do, you'll get plenty of great advice on the art of doing shows from some pretty great people.
Yes, doing shows is an art all by itself because selling your work is 50% of your business.
Hello Chris. Thanks!
Learning how to do outdoor shows will be interesting for sure. I'm going to be browsing these forums a lot.
Welcome! Glad you are here!
Thank you Cindy! Happy to be here. :)
