Artists scheduled for the Gulf Shores Shrimp Festival Oct 8-11 are required to have a Baldwin County business license for the show. I believe this is the first year they have required this and there is a complication they may have not been aware of.
The problem is that the form they enclose, if mailed too early, will get you a license that expires September 30, about a week before the show. If you mail in the application so that it reaches the business license office on or after October 1 you are cutting it close to allow time for delivery and travel to the show.
After talking to Deana at the Baldwin County office (251-937-0260) we decided the most practical solution to this problem would be to obtain the license from the Foley branch of the license office. Their address is 201 Section St. Foley. It's just off hwy 59. It's the office closest to the show site. The office hours are 8-4:30 Monday through Friday and their phone number is 251-943-5061. The fee is $31.00. You would need to do this the day before the show, so plan accordingly.
You may want to call Deanna if you have any problems with this.
