Well, this is pretty cool but I don't know how this works. A gallery owner came to a show I did last weekend and sent me an email about using my collage for the examining rooms of a new medical facility. I use quotes in most of my work and I think she liked the "uplifting" aspect of that as well as the colors. They are simple mixed media pieces that use the scraps from my book binding and whatever else tickles me at the moment. She wants me to send images of some of them for her presentation to the owners. OK. Then what? If they like them, do I sell them wholesale or retail? She is also a framer. Do I sell the matted pieces or framed? They are one of a kind. Will I have to give them a selection to choose from? I know I'm jumping the gun a tad, but it would help if I went into this appearing prepared.  If anyone has done this, could you share your experiences with me? Thanks, guys.

  • Congratulations on such a great opportunity! Since they aren't being resold, it isn't necessary to price them at wholesale (1/2 price?). I'd come up with an unframed price and figure some quantity discounts. One costs x amount, 2-4 for x amount each, 5-10 for x amount each, and so on. The more they purchase, the bigger the discount on the total order.

  • Congratulations! I would sell them unframed and allow them to
frame them. Can you post pictures for us?
    • I have to take pictures for her over the weekend. I will post some. They won't be "Larry Berman quality" heh but it make give you an idea. SOme of my local friends are thinking she may ask me to loan them or something like that. I guess we'll see.

  • Congratulations Pat - may this be the first of many!

  • Congratulations. You provide the (unmatted or matted) pieces for them to frame. Usually if they are to be used in public areas, the framing has to be specific so as not to fall off the walls and injure anyone if bumped into or handled.
