Gift Bag Storage

Hello!

I have been wrestling with my plastic gift bags for when patrons buy my work for a few shows now and wondered if anyone had any ideas for better storage.  Currently I have two sizes of plastic bags, one that fits a 8x10 print, and one that fits 16x20's.  However, they are slippery suckers!  I can't seem to get one out without pulling out several more. If I move it or drop it, several fall out or go everywhere.  Currently I just have them in a larger bag.  Any suggestions?  Some kind of cardboard tube or flat box?

Thanks,

Bonnie

  • Bonnie,

You are gonna love me for this.

I have 4 different size bags.  Each is a different color.  (Blue, Green, Purple and Red).  I went on etsy.com and had a girl make me a plastic bag sleeve /holder for each one (cloth sleeve with a circular hole at the top and bottom - you stuff the bags in there tight and pull one out the bottom with each one you need).  I hang them all on the back of the tent or where ever I am operating my "office" and I dispense which ever size I need with each order.

    Voila!

  • Sounds like you are using "clearbags".
Keep them in the original package. (They come in a clearbag slightly larger than the one contained).
Hold up a little on the one you want. Slide your hand, underneath it and back as far as possible.
Hold down firm. Slide the upper one iut.
    • I have those too but I am talking about retail bags, not clear protective bags for the prints.  They did come in a bag and I am keeping them in the bag they came in but that have no backbone and every bag I take out makes it more wiggly. The larger bags are soft folded in half.

      These are the bags

      • I have many different sizes of the Clearbags. Once on a road trip I took a lot of the different ones with me.

I put them all in a larger cardboard sleeve (from matboard) and stood them up for the drive.

WHAT A MISTAKE.. never do that. They were h**l to get out. The had fallen down, folding over each other. I learned my lesson.
