Garage Sale Art Fair in Kalamazoo deadline extended to Oct 14

As an artist, I hate when shows extend their deadlines. It looks like they're just being greedy, looking for more jury fees. But we're different!

 

We have always had a November 1 deadline but changed it this year to October 1. Many people missed the deadline so maybe we didn't do enough to stress the earlier date so we've opened it back up.

 

Our application fee is only $15 and the booth fee is still $110. This is a FUN show to do when you need to clear out all those pieces taking up space in your studio or just want some income in February! It will be our 16th year and we're in a brand new building, all in one big, bright room!

    Connie, I've had years where I got rejected from everything.  I take nothing for granted.

    Here's another tip of the day:  Wouldn't it be nice if you waited until we found out whether we all got into the Florida shows so that we knew whether we could fit this in between Coconut Grove and Gasparilla or Naples.  I'd really like to do this and I would be willing to either cut out February and then go to Florida or do this show first and then go, but, I can't shlep back and forth from Michigan to Florida and back. And, since there is no guarantee that any of us will get into any or all the Florida shows, it may be that we won't get into anything and could easily come to K-zoo. Just saying...

      Hi Barry - If you read our info you'll see that we refund total booth fees if we fill your booth if you cancel. We have never NOT filled a booth. So you have nothing to lose by applying! And I would love to wait as far as the deadline but it messes us up on timing. We'll look at it for next year again.

      If you didn't get into any Florida shows then you'd better get yourself to the GSAF, one of the few places to pick up some dollars here in Michigan in Feburary. Maybe the only place. But, of course, Barry, that won't happen ... you'll be at The Grove, etc.

    I attended this some years ago.  It would be fun to see how your show has grown over the years.

      We'll have no problem filling it with the apps we already have but the guilt got us about all the people who missed the deadline due to moving it up...
