I learned about this event through artistsnetwork dot com.
I am going to listen to this live today, starting at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. The moderator, Paul Dorrell, wrote and published a book through North Light Books called Living the Artist's Life. I've not read it. Has anyone here read it? Anyway, he's hosting a webinar in less than a few hours today called:
Juried Shows, Art Fairs: Which Ones Are Worthwhile, and How To Make the Most of Them with Paul Dorrell

HERE'S THE LINK TO THE WEBCAST/WEBINAR
Thanks Berrie, tried to follow the link yesterday but was too late as it was over. Would be interested in listening to it on utube, will try to find it.
You're welcome, RJ. I'll post that link once I get notice they've actually put it on Youtube. They said I'd get an email notice.
I listened to this live and it wasn't all that helpful regarding art fairs. But it's probably still worth listening to by anyone who didn't hear it since Dorrell does offer some helpful tips about marketing and selling. He mentions a few art fairs, such as Brookside Art Annual and Plaza Art Fair (he lives at Kansas City where he also owns a commercial gallery), but thinks that any non-juried fairs might be a waste of time to consider doing. He looks at art fairs as a beginners way to get going since seasoned pros (referred to as "Masters") would most likely do very few, and the ones they might do would be higher end and sponsored by Museums and stuff or be like Art Basel Miami. He might think of art fairs as an important early career path that artists should navigate, but eventually drop out of.
I can't go on about it now. His talk will be posted on Youtube within the next 48 hours, and once it is I'll post a link to it here.
Again, I've not read his book and after hearing his talk today might not go after a new copy of it. I might want to see it since I'm always interested in learning what I can about the biz. But I'm not going to rush out and get a copy.
