Hi all, don't know if this terrible news has been previously posted, but I just heard from Sarah Wood, another craftsperson from Crafts on Columbus about Joan and Frank Morro who make both wooden and soft toys and do many shows in Florida over the winter; below is a bit of her email from today.
From Sarah:
"Do you know Frank Morro? I am attaching a photo of him and a photo of his wife Joan, as well as a photo of the two of them, a team if there ever was one, last May on Columbus Avenue, across the sidewalk from my booth (at 80th).
In case the names mean nothing to you, maybe you know them otherwise.
Joan was killed and Frank was very, very severely injured when a tire on another vehicle blew out and their car was rammed into a divider or a wall . They were heading to North Carolina, I think, from their home in Long Island.
I have been quite upset to hear this news, as I am very fond of them both. The accident was almost two months ago. I only learned about it ten days ago when I emailed them pictures of a baby in my family with one of their toys, and got an answer back from their daughter."
From Laura- I spoke to Sarah after receiving her email, and she said Frank is being released today and will go to his Florida home where one of his children has gone to be with him in his recovery. I know cards would be greatly appreciated, as well as prayers and thoughts for a speedy recovery.
It is very sobering news, as most of us are on the road all the time heading from show to show all across the country. Be safe everyone! check your tires!

So sad. With all the traveling we do it is surprising we don't hear this kind of story more often. Here is the traffic report from the accident that killed Joan on I-95 in S. Carolina: http://www.colletontoday.com/news/colleton-county-coroner-reports-o...
You can leave a comment for the family at the funeral home guestbook here.
