I would LOVE to attend this show, I just do not have the funds for it yet. I need to find someone who will invest in me lol! It would be a great show to just go check out though! A great reason to hit NYC for sure.
I am friends with the organizers, Richard and Joanna Rothbard. They have been in this business a long time and own a successful fine craft gallery near Times Square in NYC so do know their city and have good connections. Richard is very enterprising and is always trying to create the perfect show.
This will be year 3 for the show. I talked to him last week and, no surprise, he is very excited about its prospects with new partners coming in to support the event and new plans for even better promotion.
Here is my take on it: the booth fees are very fair for indoors at the Javits in NYC. He has accessible parking and connections for reasonable lodging across the river in NJ. I recently heard that nearly 75% of all original art sold in our country is sold in NY. This is the place where people go to buy art. It seems like a fair gamble to me.
Hi, Connie, I just got the letter of acceptance into the show! I did apply after all. Also glad to see that it's possible to share booth space - have done this before with artists I know, and artists I don't know, and it has worked out just fine. So - it's a long way to travel from San Fran, but could be well worth it. Not sure if I want to stay in Jersey though... I am a Crafter, not a fine artist. We'll see...

Thanks for the feedback Connie. I think I'll apply and see what happens.

I must correct myself! I applied for the show that takes place outdoors in front of Lincoln Center, not these shows.

I've applied, no word yet.
