Edmond's Art Festival

I went to check it out this past weekend to see if this is something I want to do in the future.  Those of you who did the show, how did it go sales wise? It seemed like a whole lot of looking but I wasn't sure how much of that was turned into sales?

  • Hi John,

We were there, so were Robbie Curnow and his wife Chantay, you should have stopped by to say Hi.

I was going to write a review, but quite frankly, just haven't come up for air yet due to a really busy "corporate job" right now.

Overall, the show met our expectations.  Sales results for most of the artists I spoke to were good, some were up over previous years, others down. No one I talked to reported having a horrible show, some had mediocre results while others were very happy with their results.  Overall, we were happy with our results, a bit higher than our average, maybe not as high as our expectations given everything we’ve heard about this show, but it is one we definitely would like to do again.

Weather was not much of a factor, after all, it's the Pacific NW, we're used to rain in June and it actually rained very little compared to other Father's Day weekends.

I'll post a blog about it soon, easy load in, tough loud out, good artist support, amenities and communications. Expensive show to do when you consider the 15% commission, but since we're local, there are no travel expenses other than gas.

Overall, a show worth doing, if you can get into it.  Took us 6 years and who knows if the jury will let us in next year, it's a very competitive show to jury into.
