I keep up with some of this, so, I am posting the latest dangerous virus threats in an effort to save you from yourselves.  Some people can't resist the temptation to open every email they get. Big mistake.  I would like to say that I will do this every week, but, that isn't going to happen. I will probably do it from time to time. Here's one that first showed up in August:

I thought I would give you a heads up on an email heading that you should definitely not open.  Most likely you will not see it in any email program because all the big email programs, Google, Yahoo, etc. have already blocked it by now, but, I thought I would send this to you anyway.  The heading reads "ACH payment cancelled." or something like that. ACH stands for Automated Clearing House. It is the way center for electronic payments, like when you take a credit card payment. It includes Social Security payments, business to business, etc. So, you all use ACH indirectly. This email has nothing to do with ACH.

If you do see the "ACH payment cancelled" heading on an email you received it most likely will be in your spam folder.  However, if you open this email, a trojan is installed on your computer that watches you log into your electronic banking. It then hijacks your credentials, steals the money in your account, and then transfers the cash to "anonymous" third parties who have been recruited to accept the transfers.  Then the cash is immediately withdrawn and forwarded to the perpetrators. In September, a doctor, a school system and the city of Oakdale, CA were struck in three separate instances.  The hijackers got away with over $100,000 in each instance.
