I came across this discussion that may be still relevant. It was started by Jackie Russo and it has some useful info on cleaning your tent. Feel free to add updates here.

  • I drape the Craft Hut tent over the top of my Dodge Grand Caravan rather than setting up the tent as we normally would do at a show. The van is much more sturdy than the tent poles, too. I clean the inside and let it dry, then flip it over and clean the outside and let it dry. I usually wait for some good Wyoming July heat to set in when we'll have a 95 degrees day with 25% relative humidity. Then I'll knock it out in several hours. I looked at the other thread about cleaning started back in 2010 and someone mentioned using bleach. I never use bleach and I don't think it is recommended on this type vinyl. So be careful. I think I have good enough results with a squirt bottle of normal Fantastic. WOOHOO!

  • I have a Trimline and cleaned it recently because I had to pack it up wet after a rainy show...didn't want mildoo to set in...I set up the tent top as I would do at a show...except without the legs set up.. and used the extension handle car washing mop that I use to clean the roof of my van.

Simple green worked good for me and cleaned it thoroughly. After cleaning the top I raised it up with the legs and cleaned the sides. They didn't need much cleaning but just drying out. I then let the entire tent air dry for a few hours.

I want a clean tent because I take care of it just like everything else I own. Never seen anyone impressed by a dirty tent.

    • and a good tent is an investment, you want it to last. Taking down a tent in the rain and then forgetting to get it out of the van the next day to dry puts it in peril.
