    I'd reccomend that you "name your own price" on priceline. Put in a 3 star hotel in the downtown area and bid $50 or $60. The worst that happens is you don't get anything. The best is you get the Embassy Suites for $50.00.

    I'd be surprised if you didn't get it. I always do the name your own price when I have the option of really narrowing down the areas. In Desmoines the downtown area is SO small and there are only 3 or 4 3 star hotels. Anything that you'd get would be great.

    It's really not bad traffic-wise to stay out in West Des Moines. There are lots of hotel options out there. I usually stay at the Extended Stay America, or the Studio Plus - whichever is under $45-50 at the time - when I do a show in Des Moines.
