Here's a little peek at some behind the scenes at an art fair. The City Council in Ann Arbor has included a $10,000 grant in its next budget to support the event.

Not only are the other three shows in not bothered by this they sent in letters in support of the city supporting the show. Why shouldn't a city that derives such strong economic rewards from this event not support it? Good for the other shows and the council people for recognizing this.

Good job, city!

  • Does that mean every booth fee will be lowered by $10?

    • Geez, Larry -- did you read the article?

      • No, I was just trying to sound cute. I figure a thousand artists and ten thousand dollars makes an even $10.

        • Good - I'm relieved. For a second there you sounded just like some other folks we both know. It sounded to me like what basically the city was doing was giving them $$ that then they could turn around and give back to them for city services they're paying for. Still, the tone of the article was heartening for our business.
