Hi there -
I thought I saw something on here a few months back about a convention (in the Northern Pacific area) where people who work art fairs could go to learn about products & whatnot. Now, however, I can't seem to find it, & I can't seem to word it properly to search in Google.
Can anyone please tell me if there is such a convention (on the west coast or not) where an art fair newbie can see products on display & have all their questions answered in one place? AFI is great for the questions, but I'm more of a visual person, so to see things would help me out greatly.
Thanks in advance.

Great, Larry! Thanks for posting this. Do you, or anyone else in the AFI universe have feedback on this conference or others of its nature?
There are a lot of comments about the ZAPP conferences on this and other art show related forums. I've been a presenter at almost all the conferences, but aside from the mock jury where you can see your images projected and critiqued, it's more of a chance to meet show directors.
Last years conference had conflicting presentations. There was a three hour presentation about using social media to increase attendance and to make art shows more into family oriented festivals. But that conflicted with the next presentation on getting art buyers back to the art shows.
If you can cut your expenses by sleeping at home or sharing a room with another artist, it might be worth while. Definitely for the mock jury.

Great. Thanks again for your answer!
Larry's being modest. There's a topic here about the St Louis Mock Jury which I believe is Larry's creation. I found it very helpful.
Larry, does someone who has viewed the Mock Jury need to go to a real jurying or does the coverage in the St Louis thread cover everything? Your point about meeting the organizers is taken.
