Is there a way, when looking at "All photos" to go immediately to a page not shown on page 1 without going to one of the pages visibly posted and working my way to the page I want? I must be missing something as this is a laborious way to go.

Not that I have found, Larry. Do you have a "help" on your page at the bottom? This would be a good question for the Ning developers...also if they don't have a good answer, maybe they will design this better.
Ning is a relatively new company, but they have killer technicians, and are working on some helpful apps and are pretty responsive to inquiries.
