And we thought it was confusing having to prepare different image formats for some shows not using ZAPP or JAS.

I'm currently working on a set of 20 images of paintings for a student applying for nine different colleges. Of the nine, two are using slideroom.com (who I finally convinced to not crop the tops and bottoms of vertical images), three are asking for just JPEGs, and the other four are asking for different formats. And something I haven't seen yet, Yale is requiring that all the images show some of the wall on all four sides.

  • Two paintings were photographed in the kitchen on a table leaning the paintings up against the refrigerator. On top of the refridge are two cans of Red Bull and a box of Success minute rice. I guess you can call it Photoshopped but I took the names of the items.

  • Would Yale accept an image if it showed the artist's backyard on all four sides?  What about a small dog peeking around a corner of the work.  Oh, wait!  That's Larry's puppy in the picture!  What if the fingers of the person holding the piece are in the picture?  Does Yale want a shadow of the photographer falling on the piece?  And we thought ZAPP was a tough row to hoe a few years ago.
