I have begun working with another artist who does not do art fairs at this time. We are adding his painting skills to a glass technique that is one of my specialties to create a group of work that we hope to continue and evolve over time. At this point we are moving from prototypes to something that might be worth showing.
I plan to display and hopefully sell a few of these pieces in at shows beginning in June (if they next round goes well). I want to give this artist full credit for his share of the work, but wonder how that will sit with the show organizers. His name is not on the application and he is only a business partner for this group of work.
In my mind this is like buying an album by one artist who has a guest singer on one song. The artist who I sought out chose to incorporate someone else's work into their own. My intention is to have a small card by these pieces explaining the collaboration, and that each piece has both signatures.
Any thoughts?
