Has anyone done this show before? I'm a painter from Greenville, SC and wondered if this is a new show or not. Any thoughts on this show would be appreciated.
Thank you!

So an email went out from the show organizers to all participants on Friday with their master plan for advertising
"The sponsor has invested in advertising covering Atlanta to Augusta to Columbia to Charleston & back....The ads are beautiful in an assortment of magazines (both hard copy & on-line) Carolina Festivals, Skirt (in many different cities), ARTsee Magazine, Pink, and Carolina Arts. Outdoor advertising has been included with a fabulous billboard in Beaufort/Port Royal and the heavy hitting local advertising campaign will begin within the next week. In addition, every SC Welcome Center has over 200 postcards they are distributing.
In addition, the ARTworks trans-media specialist (Lisa Rentz) is working hard on press releases, online articles, and a "Blogadon".....A total of 3 websites feature the festival www.artseensc.org (with the blog & feature articles), www.artworksinbeaufort.org, and www.celadonfineartsfestival.org .... Finally, Lisa is utlizing Facebook and our weekly e-newsletter to their fullest potential."
While this may be a first year show, I don't think it's their first time to the party... I'm looking forward to seeing how this translates into foot traffic and sales!
I have to say that I'm pleased so far with what they are doing with advertising. They are featuring the show and an artist each week in their weekly email, publicizing on their websites and are publishing interviews with the artists. They also have a media plan where every resident in nearby Bluffton and Sun City get the local paper on Wednesday and along with the festival notice, have a sticker on the front advertising it. They'll do it again closer to show time for the same residents as well as with the local Beaufort papers and they have a local radio station on board with ads.
Is there any more info on this show? It sounded great on the application, but I just received my acceptance. From the little I can interpret there were 36 applications and will be 27 artists for this new 3-day event? This doesn't sound right. Any info about the show or the area would be helpful.
I'm taking a chance on it. Beaufort County has a really strong arts presence and this show has been on their plan of record. It's a beautiful venue albeit a tad remote on Lady's Island. It will have great community support but whether the sales will be there and at what pricepoint will remain to be seen.
