Do you think this booth shot is good enough to get into bigger shows? I do have a few plans that will make the booth shot better but they won't happen for a while. I would like some large photographs of my jewelry on the back wall and a banner for the fronts of the canopy. Any other suggestions?

  • Thank you Connie. That is much nicer.
  • Hi Angela, I just put your image into the discussion as I really like to see what you have and so does everyone else and you'll get more responses if you do. Hope you don't mind that I edited this.

It is easy to do. In the toolbar you'll see the small icon of an image - click on that and it puts it into a dialogue so you can easily upload your photo. Try it. You'll like it ;)

  • Thank you all for the suggestions. I have a fabric that I picked up a while back, but I was afraid it would be too much. I will take a second look at it. I actually have been watching this forum for a while so I did know about Larry's skills. I have looked at you website a few times. I'm not sure what I want to do yet. I have a second swag exactly the same as the one hanging. I guess I will just have to set it up in my backyard and play with it. :)
  • Dear Angela:  It's looking good.  You might consider a more luxurious fabric for your shirts, and a little more swag action in the back corners.  The signs and photos will help a lot.  Other than that, you look pretty darn good!

  • I agree with everything Larry said. To add, if you want to keep the green on the cabinets, put something neutral colored down on the ground so they don't blend into the grass.

  • No people ever in a booth picture. No artwork images, including the booth image, should ever include any identification, so no banners.

Make sure when hanging pictures on the walls, they aren't blocked by the props you have on top of the cases so you can change the pictures in the booth afterwards without having to set the booth up again.

You have to ask yourself about what the dress form does for the picture. I see it as a distraction.

Crop most of the top of the canopy off and come in real tight on the sides. Do that in editing and don't try to crop in camera because it makes it difficult to square up the front sides without pulling some of the booth out of the picture. In other words, crop after squaring.

    • Thank you for your reply Larry. Here is one without me in the photograph. I cropped it tighter, removing the dress form. It seems really plain. Do you think it is usable this way, or should I retake them? I did not know about not using anything Identifiable. That's really interesting.download?id=2160589%3AUploadedFile%3A350700&width=350

      • Cropped too tight. You're missing the top which separates your canopy from the pop up tents.

You do need something on the walls. At the least some photos and maybe some fabric curtains.

Also take the wrinkles out of the display base covers. Take the edge of the weight out of the left hand side.

It's me and it won't effect your jurying, but I don't like a green display. I prefer brown. It's too bad Carla Fox doesn't participate here anymore. I had her change her display from green to brown and she started getting into better shows.
