Marla Fry was just returning from visiting her children's school, taking birthday treats to her 10 year old daughter, when a truck ran a red light and demolished Marla's car and fatally injured her.
Marla Lynn Fry, age 43, of Valparaiso, formerly of Chicago, IL passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Born March 24, 1969 in Chicago to Allan L. and Elinor R. (Eiben) Wolynec, Marla earned a master's degree in education and was passionate about the education of young children. She was active at her daughters' school where she engaged the students in art and music appreciation on "Fry Fridays." An accomplished artist, she was the owner of Marla Fry Windows. On October 18, 1997 at Lakeside Inn In Union Pier, MI she married David L. Fry, who survives, along with two daughters: Anna and Maisy. A gathering of family and friends will be held at The Venue, 74 W. Lincolnway in Valparaiso on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 1:00 until 9:00 PM and on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 1:00 until 7:00 PM. I didn't know Marla, but when I was speaking with Amy Amdur earlier today she gave me this information. Amy said, "we are losing too many artists."

I just got a call from her husband telling me this. He is a strong man and must be with 2 young girls to raise now. This is a devastating loss. I feel emotionally drained and saddened with this news. Like can be so fleeting, and can be taken from us in a moment without any notice. Enjoy it while here.
This is really sad....... her windows were very fun and she will certainly be missed at the shows she does.
