Besides it being free and in the conference room of the motel closest to your house, what would you want to see or hear at an artist conference? What would make you want to attend?

A discussion on verbiage to include in an application, for example when you are asked to list process, techniques, etc. how much detail do you go into on the technique or it is better to focus on the motivation behind the work? What are shows looking for when they ask for an artist statement or resume? For the shows that ask for process, etc. but limit you to 100 characters, tips on how to be concise and include something meaningful and attention grabbing. How important is this verbiage if the jury is just viewing images?
You notice that I titled it artist conference and not show director conference.
Excellent ideas.
I'd like to have a few show directors who are also exhibiting artists speak about what they are doing different, based on their experience working both sides of the fence.
