I just got my acceptance to the Ohio Designer Craftsmen Art Studio Clearance Sale in January. I was wondering if ayone had any tips or information about ODC shows or this show in particular.

What should I be careful of (persnickety coordinators or weird rules) or need to pay special attention to in terms of set-up and such?

  • This show is a blast. Its easy, fun and I have made some money and gotten rid of pieces I'm tired of looking at.
The display is very casual. It is a light fun mood where everyone is looking for a bargain and very little to pack up.
Set up can be kind of a haul depending on booth location. But all in all its a good bet.
  • HI,

The clearance sale is an easy, fun show to do.

    There aren't many rules.

It can be a really good show.

    Buyers are looking for DEALS!!

If you are only making things down 20% or so you may have a hard time.

This is bargain basement type of selling.

    Good Luck.

  • We have done this show for years and love it. It's in a nice venue, load in/out is pretty flexible and not too bad; you can dolly everywhere. It's a fun, energetic atmosphere, with exhibitors' prices in constant flux. Specials are announced hourly (each booth has the opportunity to make up their own specials), and people will move from one end of the hall to the other to see what's available.
As with any indoor show, lights are a really great idea. Even tho this is a discount show, it helps to show your work at its best. Sit back, take money, and enjoy!
