I will be moving to Virginia in the summer of 2011. My move date is not certain yet so I will not apply for any shows in 2011 beyond the Florida winter/spring ones. I do intend to do some visiting of shows for research purposes over the summer and fall but it would be helpful to get an idea of what is out there. I do moderately priced photography although I am thinking of either going more upscale or creating two different display plans, one for the small local shows and going with lower priced items and one for the big shows with more upscale.

Hi Alison, I'm sure you're familiar with the four in the DC area, Reston, Bethesda, Bethesda and Alexandria.. Also you're only a few hours drive from the Virginia Beach shows.

I've done the Reston show (and loved it). I'm not familiar with the 2 Bethesda shows but I will check them out. I was tempted to apply to Alexandria but I can't be sure I'll be ready to do a show in Sept. so I decided to sit it out for this year. I know what Reston is like but what are the others like?

Some artists say that Alexandria is better. It's also Howard's most difficult show to get into.
