I don't know what experiences you have to help you make informed decisions. I used to consider doing the show about 10 years ago, and used to show in California, Oregon, and Washington regularly. So Art in the Pearl is Oregon's shining star, and if you look at the roster of artists who have done the show the last three years, you'll see above average work across the board. That means something good to everyone, plus there are only 130 artists in the show. A few factors that kept me from ever applying are the $600 and up booth fee and the lack of significant awards--there are only three awarded. But it looks like the have a good group of judges.
I recognize some of the artists in the show and a few of them I used to show with regularly. So if I were you I'd apply by the early bird deadline. Do it tonight instead of tomorrow. Good luck.
I have about 7 experiences with this show. It comes in the form of an email with some paragraphs about rejection or something.. I pretty much lose focus and go back to eating while standing at the kitchen sink with a straight face.
