Anyone have anything to say about the Arlington Virginia show this past weekend? I had to cancel at the last minute due to a family emergency (all is well now). Did I miss a great opportunity?

Thanks Bill and Steven! Looks like I will have to give this one another try - hopefully without any drama.
We looked for you too Alison. Glad to hear all is well.
This was just slightly better than break-even for us and only because of a very nice last minute sale on Sunday. The heat on Saturday and the early morning monsoon on Sunday may have kept the crowds down somewhat. I agree with Steven that the crowd size was good but it could have been great.
The location is very nice - a bustling, up and coming area (probably like Alexandria was 8-10 years ago) that probably needs to "age" another year or two before the show will produce the kind of results that HAE's show seems to get in Alexandria. Staci told me that she saw somewhere that the Clarendon area has the highest concentration of 24-34 year olds in the state and we had a lot of "youngsters" in the booth.
Load in was easy at 4AM. We just had to wait for the very efficient PD to get an SUV towed from the spot next to us. We had scoped the area out on Friday afternoon and discovered that there was metered parking just 50 feet from our spot. We pulled in at about 3:30AM and were able to claim it. $12.50 for Saturday, free overnight Saturday and all day Sunday. We left the van there all weekend and took a free shuttle to our hotel.
I agree with Steven on the overall quality and I think this show has potential.
Alison, I looked for ya but didn't see ya,,,hope all is well! The show had beautiful weather on Saturday with a good crowd, I sold a few things to break even with my booth. Sunday started off bad with a monsoon of rain until about 11ish. We all made the best of it,,,,there was a great crowd that came out despite the weather but I only sold two of my clocks. I liked the area of the show, there were two street crossings that you had to go through to get from one side of the street to the other but there were police there to help guide you across so that was cool. I was very impressed with the quality of art at the show, very very nice stuff!!! All in all for a first time show I think it will turn into a great event in the future!
