No, I am not, but wish I'd stowed away in one of the vans traveling that way in recent days -- but it is one of the "biggies" and I'm wishing all our friends a great show without last year's blasting winds. If you aren't already at the Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival, you've missed the window of calm that precedes four days of craziness.
Unlike a marathon, the arts festival, which begins today, builds momentum as the days pass. But make no mistake, for the artists from around the country who sell their works on a "festival circuit" that includes Fort Worth, it is a marathon.
Some have driven more than 1,000 miles to get here, bringing their booth, their art and all the personal effects they may need along the way. They've had to pay for the privilege of hosting the thousands of people who will file by, hoping that a few will stop in and actually pay for their artwork.
