I do not do well at Ocala and after doing it two years I have given it up. I've seen others do well. Ocala is basically two kinds of people, the rich horse people and the struggling blue collar people. The show is huge, too huge for the market and the layout is confusing. Coming in early on Saturday morning to finish setup, I couldn't find my own tent. I'm not sure what kind of work does well there. Perhaps someone else will answer that but it's not my market. On the bright side, the artist dinner is one of the best I've ever had.
im from new orleans, and familiar with that show, although ive never done it, i know many people who have. jewelry can do really well, painting can do well...the weather has a good chance of being great as the hurricane season ends around Nov. 1st...ive heard of some vendors getting bad booth locations, as it takes place on columbia street which covers many many blocks and if you are on the end of the show, you may get no action. the economy in that area is holding steady...
im just back from a chicago show where i spoke with a guy from florida and he was having a hard time suggesting shows in Fl, as he thought the florida market is still down.. its a gamble, but if you need any info on the 3 three rivers, give a shout, ill help if i can.

It's been a long time since I've done a FL show and never have done one in LA.
